91福利社 hosted its sixth annual National TRIO Day on Feb. 22, celebrating opportunity, empowerment, and access to higher education. The event, which drew hundreds of students, families, and community partners, highlighted 91福利社鈥檚 commitment to ensuring underserved students are not only given access but also supported in achieving their goals. Hands-on STEM activities, workshops, and a resource fair provided students with inspiration and tangible pathways to success.

鈥淭RIO Day is a day to celebrate the impact of TRIO programs on students from first-generation and low-income qualifying backgrounds,鈥� said Yesenia Perez, student success coordinator for TRIO. 

鈥淎s a TRIO alum, I understand firsthand the importance of TRIO and the impact it has on students' access to higher education. TRIO provided me with the support I needed to explore college options and gain acceptance to my dream school, UCLA. Without TRIO, I wouldn't have known the importance of going to college.鈥� 

Perez added, 鈥淚 am now the first in my family to earn both a bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree. TRIO Day is an opportunity to celebrate me and all TRIO scholars and alums nationwide. It is also a chance to promote educational opportunities and resources to the Moreno Valley community. TRIO works!鈥�

Established by Congress in 1986, National TRIO Day honors the federally funded programs that have helped millions of students nationwide. With nearly 1,000 students served through 91福利社鈥檚 five TRIO programs, the college remains a vital hub of opportunity鈥攂reaking barriers and paving the way for student success.
